Meke Lake
We put in to glass Sinem in the morning at 04:30 am (navigation computer) and wanted to take us from Konya to Meke Lake. Sinem had a bit fallibility, this time and took us another lake which is 2-3 km near to Meke. We found our way with old style type, by asking a person 05:45 in the morning were able to come to Lake Meke. We tried to find the best place on the sunrise I wanted to take photos in and around the lake, but the darkness could not see anything for the many. If you go to capture the morning even have to turn to the right from end of the road. This way goes around the lake almost. The way takes you, that famous place, where you see all the photos in the lake takes up next to small islets. We do not know
that we parked our car and walked in the dark. If you go in winter time to Lake Meke freezer is cold and windy. Sure, we go before sunrise we had a cold so much. Even you can go up with the car to the edge of the lake. We realized that when sunrises. For this, turn left at the end of straight road and then have to enter the path to the right from junction is reached. In fact, we are in the middle of Meke Lake was formed by an explosion after the first lake we climb to the top of this small Crater Lake. Meke is a unique crater lake in the world. Thousands of years ago as a result of an explosion volcanic crater filled with water when the lake was converted. Then a second explosion occurred and volcanic lakes in the middle of the second volcano cone was formed. Over time, this cone of the second lake also filled with water. Following this seven small islands with different periods have occurred in the explosion, but when I went I saw 3 small islets. Not a water source is fed to Meke, completely running out of rain water. However, should the structure of the rain water is immediately absorbed therefore since years and years has not been distorted. Initially, salt obtained here is not hygiene but salt reception stopped today. We wanted to visit Meke dervish who lives 1-2 km near the Meke Lake.
We knocked the door but dervish of Meke was with their sheep to graze. His wife invited us to the house even thought she sow us first time in her life. That time we understood why they called as dervish. Their door is open for everybody. We have a little chat, she offered us to make tee but we prefer to take her photos instead of tee. We learned later who comes to Meke they visit dervish of Meke. If you are a photographer and if you have passion to wait you can take beautiful photos of sunrise and sunset of Meke Lake.
